The reaction towards Fred Jones fishing technique around the Susquehanna river in Columbia, Pa. is certainly mixed. After accidentally discovering that local fish are mysteriously attracted to crack cocaine, he has become the area’s most successful fisherman and unapologetically continues to use the narcotic as bait.

“I’m kinda doing the community a service because I am taking drugs off the streets and putting ’em in the ocean.”

“Look, I know that it is an illegal drug, but it makes catching fish extremely easy,” says Jones.

When asked why he thinks his choice of bait works so well, Mr. Grey simply responded by saying: “I have no flippin’ idea … but I can tell you the fish can’t get enough of this junk.”
